Thank you: A Message of Gratitude on Veterans’ Day

November 11, 2010 · 0 comments

I voted last week.
I drive a nice truck.
I went on vacation with my family last summer.
I went for a walk on the beach with my wife.
I can go wherever I want and whenever I feel like it.
I have access to great medical care.
My family is safe at night when we sleep.

I didn’t do anything to make any of this happen.  It was given to me for free.

And even though it didn’t cost me anything personally, it was not free; it came at a cost.

An enormous cost to so many before us and to so many right now – this very moment.

So when you go for a walk with your wife, or play in your yard with your kids, remember something.

Freedom isn’t free.

Respect.  Be grateful.

Our Veterans deserve at least that.
